The first Positively Parliament seminar was held at Parliament in October 2008. In response to strong feedback that the seminar should be offered regularly and in other regions, we repeated it in Auckland in May 2009. Now we are offering Positively Parliament Christchurch 2009.

It is aimed at those librarians who are searching for and using parliamentary materials to assist their clients, and at those who are working with parliamentary collections. It is organised and presented by the Parliamentary Library, with assistance from the Office of the Clerk and the Parliamentary Counsel Office.

Programme will cover: 

• The relevance and value of parliamentary publications – some case studies – mining those hidden gems!
• The parliamentary process and how it is documented
• What is Parliament and what is government?
• Managing your collection
• Parliament’s website and other related websites
• A chance to have your say –  What do you like/dislike about using the parliament website and hard copy materials? What would you most like to see digitized? etc. -  a chance for us to get feedback from you to inform future developments
• How the Parliamentary Information Service can help you
